First Kids is for children in grades 1-6. We work to continue to build upon the foundation started during preschool. We do this by teaching our kids about the character of God and the examples of His grace through the pages of Scripture. Our hope is to partner with parents in the discipleship of their children by creating an environment that promotes an opportunity of growth and understanding. Kids participate in large-group worship and teaching, as well as age-divided small groups where they can learn more about the lesson, ask questions and build relationships with their peers and group leaders. These six years are all about transition and growing and we want to foster that through our various ministry activities. Each summer, we offer a week of Vacation Bible School as well as various activities for our children.

THINGS TO KNOW WHEN YOU BRING YOUR CHILD TO FBC:
On your first visit, greeters will help you check in and locate the appropriate classroom for your child. Computer kiosks are located in the hallways for you to check your child in on subsequent visits. Your child will receive a name tag that indicates your child’s classroom. Parents will also receive a receipt for pick-up, which will need to be presented when you return to pick up your child. Preschool parents will also sign your child in at the classroom door to help us with any health or special care needs. Teachers will be delighted to greet you and your child and to help your child make the transition into the classroom.
Genesis Lab utilizes the latest in sound, light, and computer technology to present the truths of God's word to our children in a high-energy, attention-grabbing, life-changing way. From the moment your child arrives, they become an active participant in the worship experience. Please feel free to experience this with your child...we encourage it!
Genesis L.A.B. is a unique worship environment where the truths of the Bible come alive! The name Genesis L.A.B. reminds us that "In the beginning God created" us in a spectacular way for His glory, so our right response is to Learn about the Bible so we can know God and follow His plan for us.
The children will study Scripture through interactive lessons and praise Him with joyful music. Genesis L.A.B. engages the minds and hearts of children by creatively blending science, drama, and fun! Genesis L.A.B. also helps kids understand Scriptural principles and develop a love for God and His church.
WHAT IS TeamKID?
TeamKID is a fun, high-energy ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and grow in a relationship with Him. All parts of TeamKID—Bible stories, Scripture memory, life application, missions, and recreation—connect to teach life lessons to kids.
TeamKID is designed for Kids in Discipleship! It features Bible memory games and application of Bible truths, engaging missions videos and activities, and fun activity-based learning all while helping your kids grow to be more like Jesus.
Why is the KID capitalized in TeamKID?
The KID stands for Kids in Discipleship. Discipling children is the goal of TeamKID.
What happens in a TeamKID meeting?
TeamKID is designed for children to do more than memorize Scripture. It helps children understand what the verses they memorize mean because all parts of the TeamKID meeting focus on one Bible message. The games, Bible story, memory verse, missions, and conclusion all contribute to help children understand and apply God's Word to their lives.
A TeamKID meeting has six parts with each one flowing into the next to keep the pace moving with non-stop energy:
1. WARM-UP is the opening activity that begins as soon as the first child arrives at TeamKID.
2. WORKOUT includes energized, interactive Bible study as children hear or experience a Bible story, learn the meaning of a Bible verse, apply Bible truths to their lives, sing, and pray.
3. STRETCHING is when children work on learning the memory verse.
4. REACH OUT uses either the missions DVD, missions activities, or mission action projects to teach children about missions around the world.
5. THE TOURNAMENT is a time to run, play, and laugh with fun games and activities that reinforce the Bible study.
6. COOL DOWN is the final few minutes of the meeting and includes refreshments and a review of what children have learned.
Is the gospel presented?
TeamKID recognizes that children should have opportunities to hear the gospel and respond to it. Many of the meetings provide opportunities for coaches to share the plan of salvation and to answer questions that children might have.
What about Scripture memorization?
Scripture memorization is a very important part of TeamKID. Each week there will be a verse for the children to learn. In addition to learning the verse, they will learn what the verse means and how to apply the verse to their lives.
XPLODE (3rd-4th Grades)
Xplode is an exciting ministry to children in 3rd and 4th grades on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM. Children will be dropped off and picked up in this room. Each night will consist of games, music, large and small group discussions. Becoming familiar with the Bible and learning to use our Bibles is our goal for Xplode. We know God has special blessings for your child as we Xplode in Christ through Prayer, Love, Obedience, Discipleship and Encouragement.
BLAST (5th-6th Grades)
BLAST (Believers Love and Serve Together) is a ministry to middle school age students who want to have a wild and crazy time while experiencing the love of Christ. The apostle Paul said that he was "all things to all people in order to win them to Christ!" In BLAST we try to show middle school students that there is a God who cares and loves them right where they are.
Please let us know how we can serve you and if you have any questions.
