SummerSing - TONIGHT
SummerSing is back! - and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! TONIGHT, we will gather in the Worship Center at 6:30 to hear from children, students, adults, friends, and families. (And, of course, it wouldn’t be SummerSing without the watermelon outside afterwards!)
FKW - 1st - 6th Graders
FIRST KIDS WORSHIP is here and having auditions right on the heels of an incredible WOP-WOP experience! We will be doing another Christy Semsen musical on December 2nd called “Straight Outta Bethlehem” and you can pick up your audition prep packets TODAY! Registration for FKW will be on Wednesday night, the 22nd and we launch on Sunday evening, the 26th at 6:30. Auditions will be on the 26th at 3:00 in the choir room and your prep packet gives you all of the info you need to get ready for tryouts. Join us this fall and make this our best year for First Kids Worship ever!
MSC Forum Today
Ministry Support Council (MSC) Forum. The purpose of the MSC is to provide godly leadership and sound management of FBC Cabot. It serves as a sounding board for members to ask questions and/or offer comments regarding management. The FORUM is hosted by MSC representatives and generally is available each month on the Sunday prior to the MSC meeting. If you have any questions or comments, please plan to attend the forum at noon today in the library.
We would like to cordially invite you to a banquet in your honor Thursday, September 6 at 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. You should receive an invitation by mail. Please return the RSVP card to the box in the Commons by September 2, or mail it back to the church.
Fall Kick-Off and Registration Night - Make your Reservation NOW!
Registration for our Fall Wednesday Night programming will take place Wednesday, August 22. We will begin with a FREE barbeque dinner and all the fixin’s from 5:00-6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Please let us know you’re coming by TODAY by signing up in the Commons or by visiting fbccabot.org. At 6:00 pm, we will then head to the Worship Center for a brief overview of all the different activities and ministries offered this fall. After that, registration will take place in the Commons at 7:00 pm. Come on out for a great time of food and fellowship as we get set to kick-off our new fall activities.
Daytime Grow meets this Tuesday at 10:00 AM in Room 110. This letter writing ministry helps First Baptist Church reach many new residents in Cabot, Ward, & Austin. Come join us!
Wednesday morning Women’s Study: September 5 – November 14 - Whether you are a seasoned Bible reader or struggle to keep up with studying Scripture, Open Your Bible will leave you with a greater appreciation for the Word of God, a deeper understanding of its authority, and a stronger desire to know the Bible inside and out. Join Raechel Myers and Amanda Bible Williams, the women behind She Reads Truth, in this 7-session Bible study. Using powerful storytelling, real-life examples, and scripture itself, Open Your Bible will quench a thirst you might not even know you have—one that can only be satisfied by God’s Word. Patti Dills and Kelly Sorrell will be leading this study in Room 109 beginning at 9:00 am. Sign-up will be in the Commons. You may purchase your workbook at lifeway.com for $14.99 plus shipping. Sunday evening Women’s Study begins: September 9 – November 11 – “Answering Your Question About Faith” study is returning. Sabrina McDonald will be leading this Bible study for women to discuss the puzzling questions you have about Christianity, theology, or Christian living. We will start each session with a question that has been submitted by the attendees. Nothing is off topic. We will discuss anything from theology to how faith and politics collide. This Bible study is intended to get Christian women thinking about why they believe what they believe and to equip them to have intelligent conversation with unbelievers in the world. We are meeting at 6:30pm in room 110.
Women’s Bible Study: August 29 – November 14 - Women’s Bible study begins Wednesday evening, August 29 at 6:00pm: Steadfast Love – A study of Psalm 107 by Lauren Chandler. In this 7-session Bible study you will learn to face both storms and deserts with courage and trust in Jesus, and discover how tests in our journeys of faith reveal the true condition of our hearts. Susan Shively will be leading this study in Room 103. Sign-up will be in the Commons. Cost of workbook is $13.00.
Men’s Bible Study: August 29 – November 14 - Men’s Ministry Bible study begins Wednesday evening, August 29 at 6:00pm: Act Like Men by James MacDonald. Men are so busy doing so many different things; when not working, their free time is often full of the trivial or sinful. In this Bible study men will be called to mix tender and tough, to be humble, to follow Jesus. This is a call to be leaders, men of God, husbands who are present and caring and strong. Mike Robertson will be facilitating this DVD-based study in Room 109. Sign-up will be in the Commons. Cost of workbook is $13.00.
Fall Bible Study/Precept Upon Precept: “Consider Jesus, Your Merciful High Priest” (Hebrews - Part 1): Monday Evenings starting September 10th from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM in Room 111.
