Preschool
Welcome to First Baptist Cabot Preschool Ministry!
Our goal is to partner with preschool families to lay a foundation for a faith in Jesus Christ by teaching biblical truths, showing unconditional love, encouraging trust of families and preschoolers, and meeting physical, emotional and spiritual needs of preschoolers and their families.
Our Preschool Sunday School classes meet on Sunday mornings at 9:00a.m. and 10:30 a.m. We welcome and encourage preschoolers to take part in both hours. Preschoolers are grouped by age for these learning times that are led by loving and trained teachers.
Preschool Computerized Check-In:
The safety of every child is of upmost importance to the parents and to First Baptist Church of Cabot. We deem it very important to have security measures in place for every family.
BACKGROUND CHECKS:
For the protection of your child, it is the policy of First Baptist Church of Cabot to carefully screen our volunteers. We conduct a background check on all workers that serve in our Preschool Ministry.
CHECK- IN SYSTEM:
First Baptist Cabot has a computerized Preschool Check IN System. Check IN Stations will open 15 minutes prior to the beginning of each service.
HOW DO I CHECK IN MY CHILD?
If you are a first time guest, please check in your child at the Preschool Welcome Center located on the first floor just below the stairwell outside the commons area. You will be asked to complete a Preschool Registration Form that will give us important information regarding your family. Information will be entered into the computer that will generate Security Badges for the parent and child. You will receive an easy to stick adhesive nametag that displays your child’s name along with a family code and pager number. Place this nametag prominently on your child’s clothing. Parents will receive a security pick-up tag and pager that match your child’s nametag. You will need the pick-up tag and pager to pick up your child. You will then be assisted to the child’s classroom by the Welcome Center Volunteer.
Second Time Guests, Regular Attenders and Members will have two designated Check In Stations located just outside the Preschool entrance. Learn more about our Preschool Computerized Check IN Station for Second Time Guests, Regular Attenders and Members.
(click here for a downloadable brochure with more information).
When you arrive at a Check IN Station, a volunteer will ask you the family’s last name. You will need to provide the volunteer with any important information (allergies, food, etc.) that will assist in the care of your child. A name tag will print for each child, as well as a pick-up tag for you. There will be a code on the name tag along with their name and other important information. The code and the date will also be on your pick-up tag. Your pick-up tag will not reflect your child’s name. For the security of your child, if you lose this tag, no one will be able to know what child is associated with the tag. Parents will also be issued a pager from our Welcome Center Volunteer. The parent will need to present the pick-up tag and pager when picking up their child.
Our numbered pagers serve dual purposes. Each family must return their numbered pager before being allowed to pick up their child. Doing so allows our staff to confirm that the parent has been matched with the correct child. In addition to being a security tool, our pagers also serve as a communication tool. With our pagers, we can contact parents quietly and quickly wherever you may be located on our church campus. We believe it is very important that parents be able to be contacted at all times.

First Steps: Babies-2 year olds
We at FBC believe that learning and faith development begins at birth. We use Baby Church curriculum with babies through toddlers to teach the preschoolers who God is, who Jesus is, what the Bible is and how to worship. This is accomplished by using songs, rhymes, finger plays, and simple word stories. Two-year olds build on that foundation with more detailed Bible stories and activities. These teaching activities include: art, books, blocks, puzzles, nature and home living.

Adventure Zone:
Learning about God from A-Z
3 years-Pre K
In the 9:00 a.m. hour, the preschoolers are in small groups that take part in music, Bible story, craft and snack times. All activities are age appropriate and planned to help lay a foundation for faith in God. The second hour focuses on introducing preschoolers to praise and worship. Preschoolers meet in a large group where they have their own worship service. Adventure Zone worship uses praise and worship music, Bible story tellers, puppets and skits to reinforce the Bible truths the preschoolers are learning in small groups. Occasionally, we even have a visit from a Bible character! Adventure Zone worship is all about sharing God’s word in a fun, memorable way.

Mommy and Me
Events are planned monthly (September-May) to allow mothers and their children, toddlers through Pre-K age, the opportunity to share fun experiences with their preschoolers at minimal cost. While having fun with their child, it also allows mothers the opportunity to fellowship with other moms in a Christian atmosphere.
