FirstCARE Ministry of Cabot
First C.A.R.E. is an acronym for Christian Assistance Resources and Encouragement. It is our mission to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the indigent, the transient, the hungry, and those with other specific needs in our community and our church.
What we do:
First C.A.R.E. provides food, clothing, and limited financial assistance to residents of Cabot, Austin, and Ward as well as the transient and the homeless as the situation warrants.
Food is purchased from a local grocery store as well as donated by our many contributors. It is available to our clients every month and contains enough food to feed a family for approximately one week.
Clothing is provided to our clients on an as-needed basis. Clients are allowed to select 3 outfits of clothing, a pair of shoes, and a coat. Volunteers are available to assist in this process.
Household items such as blankets, cutlery, pot/pans, and dishes are often set aside for special circumstances and are available on an as needed basis.
Financial assistance is available once in a 12 month time period and is limited to a necessary utility bill, rent, or emergency non-narcotic prescriptions.

Volunteers are here to share the love of Jesus with each person who comes through the ministry’s doors. This is the most important mission, no matter the area of service. They are the linchpins of the First C.A R.E. ministry. There are only three qualifications necessary for these positions of service:
A PASSION for people.
A COMMITIMENT to serve.
A WILLINGNESS TO SHARE their testimony.
Can't volunteer, but would love to help?
